You’ll fill out these digital forms for yourself (the principal applicant) and any family members 18 or older:
If the principal applicant is a minor child (under 18 years old), their parent or legal guardian must sign the forms, consent and make the declaration on their behalf.
You and any family members coming with you to Canada must fill out the PDF forms according to the instruction guide for the immigration program you’re applying for.
The guide will help you fill out the forms correctly.
How to sign forms
Hand signature (also called a wet signature): Print and sign the form by hand.
E-signature (also called an electronic signature): Type your full name or check a box as indicated. These are only on digital forms inside the portal.
Digital signature: Insert on PDF forms. You can type your name or use DocuSign or secure signatures.
Check the instruction guide or document checklist if you’re not sure what signature a form needs.
Your signature (the principal applicant) is needed on the overall consent and declaration to complete the online application.
When you start an application, we’ll ask you to fill out the My Profile section with your basic information first. This information will then automatically be added to your digital forms.
You may be eligible for an open work permit if you meet both of these requirements:
You can’t apply for your open work permit in the Permanent Residence Portal. We’ll refuse your work permit application if you do.
You must apply for your work permit through your IRCC secure account. If you’re using a representative to apply, they’ll use the Authorized Paid Representatives Portal.
